Java Programmers - Anahiem, CA

This position requires an individual who will be responsible for integrating customer solutions at the direction an engineering manager or project lead. This individual’s responsibilities will contribute to successful requirements, design, implementation, testing in house, and testing on site of biometric system software.

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the creation and updating of system requirements.
  • Designing system implementations.
  • Creating implementation tasks and plans/schedules.
  • Creating design documentation.
  • Installing and configuring our biometric software.
  • Installing and configuring third party software.
  • Setting up hardware.
  • Presenting solutions and project status to customers.
  • Leading project teams and individual contributions as a team member.
  • Troubleshooting systems.
  • Providing status as required.
  • Understanding current and legacy biometric software versions.
  • Leading customer onsite integration activities.
  • Providing solutions for simplifying and reducing integration costs.

Other Job Functions:

  • Performing customer demos
  • Supporting presales activities
  • Creating software scripts and tools as necessary

PROBLEM SOLVING/JUDGMENT:
This position requires an individual who can understand customer requirements and be able to determine when the system is not fulfilling them.  This individual is expected to solve many integration issues without extensive assistance from others.  This individual is expected to raise risks before they become major issues.  This individual is also responsible for assisting other integrators in solving problems.

SUPERVISION REQUIRED:
The individual filling this position, Integrator III, may be assigned directly to a manager or technical lead that will be responsible for providing specific task guidance.  This individual will also lead projects that are deemed to be at his level by the management team.  

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Persons in this position, Integrator III, will have responsibility for leading the work of others within a matrix environment for specific purposes but must work through their direct manager to ensure proper resource planning occurs.  Persons in the position will have responsibility to mentor other less-experienced team members providing guidance, advice, and recommendations. 

CONTACTS:
All integrators will interface directly with customers and within most areas of the organization.  Their primary contacts within our internal organization will be product development and program management resources.

DECISION MAKING:
Individuals working at the Integrator III level are responsible for working with their assigned project lead or their supervisory concerning all decisions related to their role in the organization. 

MINIMUM SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS (MUST-HAVE’S): 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related Engineering Fields.
  • 5+ years Microsoft Windows (multiple versions) knowledge and experience.
  • 8+ years Linux Operating System knowledge and experience.
  • 5 + years Working knowledge of source code environments such as Rational Clearcase.
  • Experience reading, understanding and creating system requirements and design documents.
  • 4+ years Java, XML Software programming experience
  • Experience leading 2 or more people in the successful completion of integration projects.
  • Organizational experience with planning and implanting complicated systems.
  • Experience with integrating complex systems with multiple servers, interfaces, and software.
  • Relational Database experience (e.g.  Oracle, Microsoft SQL).

DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Biometrics Knowledge.
  • Biometric System Industry Standards Knowledge.
  • Experience with redundant, cluster system environments.
  • Experience with system backup and restore procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to work on computer workstations and servers in a normal office environment.

Biometric Researcher-PhD - Anahiem, CA

The candidate will be responsible for working in a team environment to develop new algorithms and modify existing algorithms to improve our core biometric software. This individual will also be expected to work with the team to create algorithms which are capable of combining multiple biometrics to produce more accurate matching algorithms.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding current fingerprint biometric algorithms
  • Providing comprehensive suggestions to improve the accuracy and speed of algorithms
  • Understanding and improving the image procession capabilities of our current system.
  • Create software prototype algorithms
  • Writing Patent disclosures for approved inventions
  • Creating technical design documentation for algorithms
  • Presenting algorithms and solutions to engineering staff members,
  • Analyzing matching results from in-house testing and live customer sites.

Other Job Functions:

  • The preferred candidate will be capable of transforming prototype software into product-ready software.
  • Creating software scripts and tools as necessary

MINIMUM SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS (MUST-HAVE’S): 

  • Minimum Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Strong preference for Ph.D. candidate with a thesis in one or more of the following areas: Biometrics, Image Processing, Pattern Recognition or Computer Vision.
  • One to Three years biometric Industry experience.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ on Windows, Unix and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge in Java, Matlab, XML a plus.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills a must.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
  • Linux Operating System knowledge and experience.
  • Working knowledge of source code environments such as Rational Clearcase.
  • Experience reading, understanding and creating system requirements and design documents.

DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Biometric System Industry Standards Knowledge
  • Biometric knowledge, primarily in Fingerprints and palmprints.
  • Biometric knowledge with Iris, Facial and other biometrics would be a plus.
